Monitor for
neutron and gamma radiation RKS-02 «Kordon» is an effective detection of natural
and artificial origin radioactive materials during continuous remote monitoring
of vehicles, railway transport, pedestrians, passengers and hand luggage.
The monitor measures compound density of gamma and neutron radiation flux during
continuous tracing for flux density from natural background in place of
detection units’ location signalizes about flux density over background level
exceeding.
The monitor is for installation on checkpoints of airports, NPPs, specialized
enterprises, state borders. In case of monitoring staff of specialized
enterprises, NPPs' and monitoring of pedestrians, passengers, hand luggage the
monitor usually has installed indoors.
2. Monitor components and principle of operation
Monitor is the fixed device consists of:
– detection units;
– control console with built-in power supply unit;

The
detection units convert compound flow of neutron and gamma radiation in
chain of impulses at the output. The detection units’ operation principle
has based on scintillation in plastic scintillators. Plastic scintillator
sensitive to gamma and neutron radiation had use in kind of detector. Output
impulses chain's count rate is proportional to density of gamma-quantum and
neutrons compound flow in place of detection unit location.

this case monitor reacts on overthresholding of total level from background and
monitored object;
·
«Relative», adjusted in range of 10...1000% as deviation of flux density

·
«Efficient», adjusted in range of 0...10 as root-mean-square deviation (sigma)
of flux density metering result from background level.
Metering time
